About the author
I'm David Turnbull, a Vancouver personal trainer with 15+ years of coaching through TurnFit (opens in a new tab). I'm a trainer, not a doctor. These notes are N=1, which means one person: me. More about me.
Who it's for (and who it isn't)
My opinion: it's for you if you want a plain-language starting point and you like straight talk. It's not for you if you want a medical manual or a promise. It's a starter, not the whole library.
If you've done everything right and nothing stuck, the problem is usually the plan, not you: generic, one-size-fits-all advice, and quitting before it had time to work. This book is my plain-language starting point. Bring a pen. Bring a sense of humour. Leave the magic-pill thinking at the door.
Straight up: this is for people who are fully committed. If you're ready to go 100% in and do the boring things on repeat, welcome. If you want a magic shortcut, I'm the wrong bull, and that's fine.
My notes. N=1. Not a study. Not medical advice.
